PRODUCT: TAPERED-SEAM panels are custom fabricated in shapes as required to accommodate actual field conditions.

NOTE:   Refer to Standard System Profile Page for seam cross sections.

Stiffener Ribs are not available on Tapered Seam Systems.

Lead times for production of Tapered Seam Systems are normally 3-4 weeks.

Continuous lengths up to 80'-0" is standard.

Tapered panels may require additional crating fees and handling charges.

22 Ga. Steel, .040 and .032 aluminum are not stocked in all colors. Minimum order quantities and extended lead times may accompany panel orders when utilizing these substrates

Oil-canning, the slight waviness inherent with light gauge metal, does not affect the finish or structural integrity of the panel and is therefore not cause for rejection.

ROOF ASSEMBLIES:   TAPERED-SEAM systems can be installed on a variety of substrates depending on the individual system's structural capabilities. Refer to the roof assembly section of each panel system in this brochure for additional information.

PRODUCT USES AND APPLICATIONS: TAPERED SEAM systems are typically used on conical shaped solid substrate roof areas with roof slopes as low as 2:12. The panel size at the base of the tapered panel may vary from 12" to 22" in order to achieve a symmetrical panel layout. Consult DMI for additional information.

LIMITATIONS:

TAPERED SEAM systems exhibit some limitations depending on the tapered panel profile used, the shape of the conical structure, and the overall length of the tapered panel. When using tapered panels on a conical surface that comes to a point, consider the following: All TAPERED SEAM panels (greater than 10'-0" in length) are manufactured with a taper from the desired base dimension to 2", min. at the narrow end (this dimension is typically larger for the Double-Lock and Inter-Lock profiles). In addition, the seam of the TAPERED SEAM system typically needs a certain amount of space for proper seam engagement. Also, TAPERED SEAM panels of lengths greater than 48'-0" are very difficult to handle especially if the tapered panel has a narrow top dimension. If longer lengths are required, consult DMI for additional information.
